How to connect your Honeywell Prestige Programmable Thermostat to the internet

1. I used to work for Honeywell Information Services!

   My enquiry is about how much the Honeywell Prestige Programmable Thermostat is and whether I can then access this remotely through the Internet in a secure manner. Basically I own a house which has renters / tenants and I am not always present but would like to be able to reset the thermostat remotely if this is necessary.

4. I presently have two thermostats, one for heat the other for air, both located close together. Can I install a Honeywell thermostat to these.

5. Hi Lisa,

   Thanks for your question and for checking out ControlTrends. This can be done but can be tricky. A couple of things to consider: each unit should have it’s own transformer, if you combine the two units with one thermostat you must make sure the transformers do not conflict. Do both systems have a fan that runs when the unit is calling for either heat or cooling? If so the fan must be wired in such a way that if the stat is calling for either heating or cooling the fan will run. So the good mews is it probably can be done, but I strongly recommend having a licensed HVAC or electrical contractor do this retrofit, due to the complexity of these type of updates. This would be my advice to you regardless of the thermostat you wanted to use. Honeywell, Nest, Lennox would all be similar for this type of upgrade.

6. I sold my house and my old gateway is still in my name how do I retrieve the sign in information and delete that account so the new home owner can use it.
