Honeywell’s Advanced RTU Controls Retrofit Solution

Honeywell is pleased to announce the introduction of the Advanced RTU Controls Retrofit Solution. There are an estimated 12 million Rooftop Units (RTUs) currently installed on rooftops in North America. This type of HVAC equipment utilized in more than 80% on small and medium buildings (< 50K sq. ft.) in key applications such as: schools, restaurants, retail stores, and small office buildings. Today, the majority of these buildings are controlled with standard thermostats. A significant opportunity exists to reduce the energy consumption of these existing, operating RTUs by retrofitting them with new controls. RTUs with single speed fans that are less than 15 years old, five tons or more, with a life-expectancy of at least 5 more years, are often good candidates for controls retrofits.
