VizLore platform is physically divided into two computational strata: a) Edge Computing is applied and distributed across connected devices and networking elements. It enables tactical data processing and serves to improve service resilience. b) Cloud Computing: Orchestration of distributed computing and service integration across the edge devices happens in the cloud, as well as more strategic oversight and workflow control. VizLore soft sensors and analytics derive insight and value from data sources that range from occupant personal devices, building infrastructure, and public-domain information.
NIST Smart Grid and CPS Newsletter: Global City Teams Challenge (GCTC): “Tech Jam” Features 60+ Presentations. IoT-Enabled Smart City Framework: U.S. Kick-off Held on March 24-25, 2016: The international technical public working group to help develop an IoT-Enabled Smart City Framework (IES-City Framework) was launched March 24-25 at a kick-off event on the NIST campus in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The U.S. event, held immediately following the GCTC Tech Jam, drew 70 participants. A parallel European kick-off event is planned for April 14-15, 2016, in Rome, Italy.
