I am a video nerd, I believe that if a picture is worth a thousand words, then a well-done video gives you everything you need to know to make a good decision and is enjoyable to watch. Our friends at ACI have nailed it on two fronts: 1) the A/WPR is an amazingly easy to install and configure wet to wet differential pressure transmitter and 2) they have created a captivating and informative video to communicate all you need to know about the product without saying a word! I could say more, but just check out the video. [Read more…]
Episode 234: ControlTalk NOW — Smart Buildings PodCast for week ending August 6, 2017 features more great insight from energy expert, Mark Jewell, and two deep-dive interviews with AutomatedBuildings.com’s, Ken Sinclair, and Optergy’s president, Steve Guzelimian. Make sure to register for upcoming webinars from Belimo, ACI’s, and Schneider Electric.
ControlTalk NOW guest Mark Jewel, renowned expert trainer and coach, business consultant, and solutions designer. Selling Power magazine recently ranked Mark’s company, Selling Energy, as one of the nation’s Top 20 Sales Training Firms. Mark has influenced energy efficiency decisions in three billion square feet of real estate in his 25+ years in this industry and has trained countless controls manufacturers, distributors and contractors how to differentiate themselves with segment-specific, concise messaging and more effective approaches to driving their revenues and margins.
ControlTalk NOW’s first interview is with Ken Sinclair who reviews his August edition of AutomatedBuildings.com. Ken takes us on a profound tour of the dogged progression towards autonomous devices and autonomous buildings. Ken’s editorial first links us to the relevant technology thought-leaders, while the body of the August edition provides an excellent array of perspectives from various industry experts. Ken even spices things up a bit with some info on CryptoCurrency, Blockchain, and Bitcoin. The once cloud-bound flow of data is in flux. The edge is fogging up, and Hey You! — Get off of my Cloud!
ControlTalk NOW’s second guest interview is with Steve Guzelimian, President, Optergy. Steve offers the following analogy with regards to combining BMS and EMS Analogy: “It could be said that operating a building is analogous to driving a car. If the driver has visibility of the road, feedback from gauges and a steering wheel, they will be in full control. Take away the driver’s road visibility or feedback from gauges; they will crash or run out of fuel. Remove the driver’s steering wheel, and inevitably the car will crash on the first corner. BMS is the steering wheel, EMS is the visibility and feedback.”

ControlTrends had the opportunity to visit with Barry Gordon, Senior Sales Engineer at ACI, who was excited to tell us about ACI’s new DLP Low Pressure Transmitter. The DLP Series is based on a piezoresistive, silicon sensing element which senses Differential Pressure and provides an analog output. The hinged cover on the DLP can be easily opened using the integrated locking tab on the side of the enclosure. This allows for easy access to the zero function and field selectable ranges and outputs. The DLP Series also includes an optional five digit, easy to read display which aids in initial setup/installation, troubleshooting, and local monitoring. The cord grip fitting provides strain relief and easy access to the color coded, spring loaded terminal blocks. Another well-engineered product from ACI!
ACI is combining all the best features from multiple products to create an all-encompassing differential pressure option that should make a huge impact! Every aspect of this product was analyzed and designed to maximize the value it will present to you!
Industry trends point towards increasing the accuracy on front-line monitoring devices such as measuring building static pressure. The standard accuracy for the DLP Series is +/- 0.50% but can be specified to 0.25%. Field adjustable ranges and outputs broaden the applications each unit will cover. In addition, the newly designed enclosure is attractive, robust, provides easy access, and is quick to install.
Other highlights include: * Field Selectable Pressure Ranges * Ranges from 0.1″ to 40″ w.c. * Uni and Bi-Directional Ranges * Field Selectable Outputs * Zero Function * Optional, Large LCD Display * Pitot Tube/Din Rail Accessories * 1/2″ NPT Conduit Knockout * Push Down / Spring Terminal Blocks * Durable Polycarbonate Enclosure * Optional, N.I.S.T Certification * Fewer SKU’s / Reduced Inventory
