Sierra Monitor Corporation’s FieldServer BACnet Router — First Product to be Certified as Router at BACnet Protocol Revision 12

smc3Sierra Monitor Corporation Announces BTL-Certification for BACnet Router Product. Milpitas, California – January 12, 2015 – Sierra Monitor Corporation (OTCQB: SRMC), a provider of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions that connect and protect high- value infrastructure assets, today announced that its FieldServer BACnet Router has been certified by the BACnet Testing laboratory (BTL), having successfully passed the Protocol Revision 12 router tests. The product is the first one in its class to pass the new Protocol Revision 12 tests.

“Building owners and control systems designers rely on products that carry the BTL mark, to ensure interoperability when it comes to their field integration”, said Duffy O’Craven, BTL Manager. “As the BACnet standard evolves to support new requirements, it’s important that product vendors keep their implementations current. We are pleased to recognize that Sierra Monitor’s FieldServer BACnet Router is the first product to be successfully tested as a Router at Protocol Revision 12.”

The FieldServer BACnet router is a complete internetworking solution for BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, and BACnet/Ethernet. With its use of two RS-485 ports, the product reduces the cost of connecting each BACnet MS/TP device to a BACnet/IP backbone or doubles the responsiveness of each connected device relative to other options in the market. A simple one-page configuration screen along with a unique one-click discovery feature that allows the integrator to discover all connected BACnet devices minimizes the time required for successful commissioning.

Engineer Shane Hodgson from Integrator Mestex, a division of Mestek Inc, said, “It was very easy to get the router up and communicating with the devices on the BACnet MS/TP side and with the software on the BACnet/IP side. Also, the support of up to 64 devices across the two MS/TP connections on the router exceeds that of the competitive product that I’ve tested which supports 31 or 32 devices maximum.”

The FieldServer BACnet Router FS-Router-BAC is available for sale immediately from Sierra Monitor Corporation (www.sierramonitor.com) and authorized partners.
