Some 400 of Honeywell’s top distributors, integrators, and contractors joined together inside the Crystal Ballroom of the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld®. Expectations were high. Keynote speaker Terry Jones, Mike Keller, Honeywell’s North America Buildings Sales Director, and Michael Garceau, Honeywell’s new General Manager, quickly met and exceeded all expectations.
Terry Jones, a renown motivation rouser, set the bar high, delivering 90 minutes of pure insight and inspiration. As a founder of both Travelocity.com and Kayak.com, Jones shared some of the secret sauce know-how that built these two start-ups into billion dollar companies. Playing on a quote from L.P. Hartley, “The future is a foreign country; they do things differently there,” Jones conveyed a pressing, almost urgent message: Move! Start with small changes and risks while developing your own version of innovation — or, let the forces of disruption dictate your future.
Mike Keller and Michael Garceau then shared center stage and delivered nothing short of Honeywell Building Technologies’ State of the Union Address, taking past problems and operational issues head-on, they then unveiled a host of transformative innovation and technology that nailed the event’s themes of Momentum, Connections, and It’s a New Day at Honeywell. Day 1 continued with a myriad of Breakout Sessions that featured the New CIPER Model Controllers, Technical Tracks and related Business and Training Tracks, culminating with a good round of networking at the Vendor Tradeshow, where attendees mingled among the 14 Momentum Sponsors’ booths — well-nourished, and cocktails in hand.
