In his August edition of AutomatedBuildings.com, Ken Sinclair, takes us on a profound tour of the dogged progression towards autonomous devices and autonomous buildings. Ken’s editorial first links us to the relevant technology thought-leaders, while the body of the August edition provides an excellent array of perspectives from various industry experts. Ken even spices things up a bit with some info on CryptoCurrency, Blockchain, and Bitcoin. The once cloud-bound flow of data is in flux. The edge is fogging up, and Hey You! — Get off of my Cloud!
Excerpt from Ken’s August editorial: “The joke in our industry is that we are either moving towards or away from centralization. The latest trend sees us moving our present cloud power to the edge driven by low cost extremely powerful controllers capable of a decentralized collaboration. Although this embodies a lot of new concepts it is not that different than the microprocessor revolution of the early 1980s when the power of mainframe and mini was pushed to stand alone controllers.”
Important note to the ControlTrends Community: AutomatedBuildings.com is a cardinal source of industry knowledge that rivals any data base in the industry. As Ken Sinclair says,”The news just keeps flowing thru our web-site, and RSS feeds daily, and of course the only way to find what you are looking for in the vast quantity of information on our site is with our site search engine http://www.automatedbuildings.com/search/sitesearch.htm.”
