Working with burner and boiler equipment is serious business, and safety should always be top priority, which is why there are flame safeguard controls and flame safeguard training classes. Honeywell is the industry leader in burner and boiler control components and systems with products built to enhance safety in commercial and industrial buildings. If you work with any of these products, proper training is key to safety and your comfort level in working with them.
In October Stromquist will be offering two free Honeywell Flame Safeguard training classes taught by a Honeywell Flame Safeguard expert, Dave Krause, who has been with Honeywell and working with burner and boiler controls for decades. We will have a class in Orlando on October 5, 9:00 – 12:00, at our office at 5125 Adanson Street, Ste 200. A class in Tampa will be on October 6, 3:00 – 7:00, at a location in the Tampa area to be determined.
The classes will be packed full of helpful information and will include hands-on work on flame safeguard boards to learn proper operation and troubleshooting. You will learn about primary controls, limits and pressure controls, gas valves, flame detectors, programming, conversions and more.
You can register for either of these classes by clicking on the Training tab above or by e-mailing edna@stromquist.com. There is no fee to attend, but you must register in advance.

Hi I am in Los Angeles and would like help learning more about the burner system at my job. I am an asphalt plant operator and am batching out of a 1947 batch plant here in the city. We are experiencing some burner control issues. Please are there any references or videos online about the burner system that I can learn from so I can troubleshoot our controls? Thanks.
Warmly,
Tom
Tom,
Thanks for checking out Controltrends. Two possibilities: First which burners are you using? Could be North American, Maxon, or another brand. Once I know whose burner you are using I can better guide you. Also, if you are experiencing burner control problems I can highly recommend The George T Hall Company in the Los Angeles area as a great resource.
