This is an easy task and can be quickly accomplished by following these easy steps:
1)Take temperature readings of the outside air flowing through the dampers-the returned air and the mixed air.
2)Make sure the mixed air temperature is taken before any heating or cooling coils.
3)Plug the temperatures into the following formula:
%OA=(return air temp-mixed air temp)/(return air temp-outside air temp)X100%
Example: 68-42/68-32=72.222(100)=72%
This formula works best when there is a substantial difference between the temperatures. You can also measure CO2 and substitute those readings for temperatures using the same formula.
