Realcomm|IBcon Day 1 Begins with Realcomm Lifetime Achievement Awards — Bob Sulentic, President and CEO of CBRE Shares Views on Digital Transformation

Realcomm|IBcon set new records in both attendance and exhibitor participation as it celebrated its 20th Year Anniversary. As Jim Young, CEO and Co-founder remarked, its not a conference anymore, it’s a community event that is transforming the industry.

Realcomm|IBcon began with a powerful message from keynote speaker Bob Sulentic, President and CEO of CBRE. Hype is not sustainable; technology must be embedded, commercial, and make important client impact. Realcomm Lifetime Achievement Awards followed recognizing the visionaries that have helped transform the Commercial, Corporate, and Institutional Real Estate industries. The daylong business tracks were followed by the Digie Awards.

Realcomm|IBcon Background:

Realcomm|IBcon 2018 celebration of 20 years at the intersection of Commercial and Corporate Real Estate, Technology, Automation and Innovation is underway. It has been an incredible journey, one that included many ups and downs, travels, conversations, debates and ideas from around the world, as well as a slow but steady rise in the adoption of new innovative ideas powered by technology. These powerful trends are not only changing business processes, they are affecting some of the fundamental reasons we use real estate.

This milestone year’s theme, The Age of Acceleration: Navigating Global CRE Technology and Innovation, focuses on what it will take to keep up, understand all the new technology, change organizations, rethink strategies, predict the future, take bigger risks and work at a speed never experienced in modern history. These are not just tactical, incremental changes to operating models, but those that may result in wholesale changes to the purpose of real estate and how we operate it. This enlightened General Session featured presentations and conversations on how we can survive and thrive in this Age of Acceleration to be truly open to transformative change.
