Catch all the excitement as the global ControlTrends Community crowns the 2016 Light Commercial Controls Solution of of the Year Award winner. In this case, it will take two crowns as both KMC Controls and Proton Optergy get recognized for their outstanding solutions.
Honeywell is pleased to announce the introduction of the SmartVFD HVAC2 line of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) available to all Commercial Distributors. This new offering provides a reliable, high-performing VFD that minimizes HVAC energy consumption on fans and pumps. Honeywell’s SmartVFD HVAC2 provides maximized energy savings and monitoring capabilities at an affordable price, with quality products backed by a strong 3-year warranty and solid technical support.
The HVAC2s come with a look and feel similar to the SmartVFD Compact models, but with many new features not available with the SmartVFD Compact, including:
* SmartVFD HVAC2 extends the HP range up to 25HP to cover most HVAC applications
* Frame sizes MI1-MI3 are the same small size and footprint as the SmartVFD Compact enabling installation in tight spaces
* Motor pre-heat, expanding operation in colder environments
* Option board expansion slot – uses the same six option board as SmartVFD HVAC
*Temperature input, via option board, for PID control, motor pre-heat sensor, or just monitoring
*Limit Supervisions for more flexible control of relay outputs to external devices
* Prohibit Frequencies, for avoiding resonant frequencies that cause unwanted vibration
* Permanent Magnet (PM) motor compatibility
* DC choke on the higher horsepower MI4 and MI5 frame sizes reduce harmonics and stress on capacitors, increasing VFD life
* Other features include Modbus communication as standard, the same on-board I/O as the Compact, and models offered with EMC2 filters.
The NEW SmartVFD HVAC2 is in stock and available now for purchase.
The SmartVFD Compact will continue to be sold for the remainder of 2017. Take this opportunity to start migrating your sales from the SmartVFD Compact to the SmartVFD HVAC2.

Belimo is excited to announce the launch of a full range of HVAC sensors. The new sensors are the perfect complement to Belimo actuators and valves, optimizing energy efficiency and system performance. Join our live webinar TODAY, April 5th at 1:00 PM EDT. A 15 minute Q&A session will follow.
The new sensor offering is the result of over four decades of experience, research, and focus on providing value-added technologies that help reduce expenses and installation. Belimo sensors seamlessly integrate into major building automation systems (BAS) with the same quality, reliability and value that define Belimo. Belimo’s expertise and ability to innovate are evident with the universal compact enclosure design, intuitive screwless snap cover, and detachable mounting plate making installation and commissioning easy.
With a focus on quality, the Belimo sensors carry a five-year warranty, conform to NEMA 4X and IP65 requirements and are UL compliant. The Belimo sensor offering includes single and multi-range: temperature, humidity, pressure, CO2, and VOC (volatile organic compounds) sensors for pipe and duct applications.“Belimo sensors not only deliver reliable and accurate readings,” states David Alliband, Sensors Product Manager, “ the sensor enclosure design also features a modular conduit fitting and a spring loaded removable terminal block that installers and technicians will love.”
The Belimo Energy valve was awarded the 2016 Energy Savings Solution of the Year the 2016 ControlTtends Awards. This is not the Belimo Energy valve’s first win in this category, having won in 2014 and 2015. This unique control valve combines the Belimo pressure independent flow strategy with a supply and return temperature sensor which allows the valve to control off of Delta T. Not only do you have BTU data but you can gain an additional 20-30% energy savings. Well done Belimo.

It’s getting cold outside…..well maybe not yet, but it will start getting cold soon. When it get’s cold we turn the heat on, and when we turn the heat on, we find out what broke during the warm days of spring and summer. In the spirt of making sure replacement heating stuff get’s installed properly, we are re releasing one of our most popular technical videos on how to install a gas pressure regulator the right way.
Stromquist & Company’s, Matt Koenig, gives you the step by step instructions you need to make sure your gas pressure regulators will work. If you do not install gas pressure regulators correctly they will not work.
A disclaimer, gas pressure regulators can be dangerous and should only be installed by qualified professionals. Another disclaimer, if you are not a qualified professional and are watching this video, you have way to much time on your hands, get help now!
