We Lost One of the Industry Greats over the Weekend

Our community lost one of its truly great members over the weekend. It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of Mike Schwan. Mike passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 28, 2019.

Mike was an extremely talented controls professional and a true stalwart in the two-step distribution industry. Mike spent 28 years with Controlco and 8 years with Total Control, a Division of RSD.

I personally will remember Mike for his infectious smile, his kind words, and his willingness to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. To know Mike was a real treasure for me. Mike embodied the best of a compassionate and understanding human being.  He enjoyed the best in people and he enjoyed life and that’s why Mike was able to brighten everyone’s day.

He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

May he rest in peace.

We received this update from Deven Putnam, Total Controls:

Jennie (Mike’s wife) and the rest of the family hope that you all can make it, but understand if you are not able. She also has requested that all guests wear Bulldog Red in remembrance of Mike.

As we all know, that’s who he was.

And in his immortal sign off I’ll say once and for all for him… GO DOGS!!!
